OVERVIEW
Established in 1919, IIE is a not-for-profit organization that connects scholars and educators to research and learning opportunities across the globe. Wide Eye worked with the IIE team to refine site navigation and content structure in order to encourage audiences to participate in the global education community. We also designed a soft brand refresh that communicated the values and benefits of international education and provided a timeless, ownable brand identity.
CHALLENGE & SOLUTIONS
An abundance of academic programs and new content made the existing website confusing to navigate. We developed a rigorous research process that included user journeys, sitemaps, and wireframes to draw users to participate in IIE’s key pillars: scholarships, program development, research, and crisis response. The outcome was a fully responsive, user-friendly website.
It was also important to evolve IIE’s brand direction, underscoring the organization’s transformational and credible attributes while being able to utilize the design system across various applications including social media and reports. We based the expanded visual system on the theme of “powered by diversity” - drawing upon geometric shapes and wayfinding iconography to speak to IIE’s mission.
